Bomb Alert At Airport Over

A bomb alert at Belfast International Airport has ended and the terminal has been re-opened by police.

Two packages were found by the PSNI at the long-stay car park, and the airports terminal was closed, causing major delays. After an investigation, neither package is being treated as suspicious.

The airport had been closed for almost an hour while a controlled explosion was carried out.

A PSNI spokesperson said police were examining closed-circuit television footage in a bid to discover how the packages came to be there.

A mile-long queue of traffic developed during the incident, stretching back along the main airport road.
