Romanians To Appear In Court Over £24,000 Fraud
Almost 30 Romanians are due to appear in court over a find by the PSNI of £24,000.
Police took the money from a Nicolae Nicola at the weekend and have brought proceedings against him regarding tax issues.
The inquiry will also be checking the status of 28 migrant workers Mr Nicola used to sell copies of the Belfast Telegraph.
The solicitor representing the Romanians said he expected them all to attend the next hearing.
"It's all to do with their wages. A lot of them would have very close contacts with their homes. You could say this money is a lifeline to them. They work at a very basic level."

Romanians Flee As Police Make Arrests
Scores of Romanian families are preparing to leave the Province following a sustained campaign of racial intimidation. According to NI Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie, 25 people have already left, with 75 more in the process of moving. Ms Ritchie said the flights will be paid for out of Housing Executive emergency funds.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has joined Martin McGuinness in condemning a spate of racist attacks in south Belfast, which have forced scores of Romanian families to flee their homes. This afternoon, Housing Minister Margaret Ritchie said those affected would be temporarily rehoused, meaning up to 20 families will be offered emergency accommodation.

Racist Accused Gets City Ban
A 21-year-old man accused of intimidating Romanians living in south Belfast has been banned from the area. The High Court has imposed a exclusion zone order on Shane Murphy, who faces charges relating to activity that forced scores of foreign families to leave their homes.

A Hong Kong-born Assemblywomen has said she will not be deterred by racist threats against her life. South Belfast MLA Anna Lo (pictured) was told by police at the weekend that she is now a potential target for racist elements in the city.

Move To 'Oust' Ruane Responsibility for the future of post-primary could be taken from the hands of NI Education Minister, Caitriona Ruane. Earlier this week a motion to that effect was tabled at Stormont and if successful, the move would instead see an education sub-committee of ministers established to tackle the issue collectively.
