Petrol Bomb Attacks Target Fountain - Again
A fourth petrol bomb attack on a Londonderry interface has further heightened tensions in the area.
The mainly Protestant Fountain estate in central Derry has seen several attacks which have this week led to warnings from both nationalist and unionist politicians that someone could be killed in a confrontation.
Sinn Fein has appealed to community and political leaders in the Fountain to take action to stop trouble escalating.
The party's Leader on the City Council, Maeve McLaughlin, (pictured) was speaking after two petrol bombs were thrown from the estate into Upper Bennett Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Further attacks followed with a device thrown into the estate shortly after midnight last night, which is the fourth incident at the interface area since the weekend.
On Tuesday, one was thrown into the Fountain, and two days earlier two petrol bombs where allegedly thrown from the Fountain into Upper Bennett Street.
DUP MLA William Hay said recent incidents at the interface haven't done either community any good: "My greatest fear is that if we can't resolve these issues someone is going to be seriously hurt or we'll be dealing with a fatality. We as leaders also need to ensure we don't say anything that further inflames the situation."
He suggested that Sinn Fein go to the police with any information on troublemakers.
However, Sinn Fein alleges that 'vandalism' of the H-Block memorial in the Bogside was carried out by people from the Fountain and effectively sparked the ongoing trouble.
Inspector Paul Deacon said: "Police in Foyle remain committed to tackling crime, including that of a sectarian nature."
"We have a strategy in place to deal with incidents at interface areas and this has generally proved successful," he added.
"Police will continue to work with the community to address these issues and will actively follow up on any information passed to us by the public."
None of the petrol bombs caused any injuries or damage to property.

Investigation Launched Into Petrol Bomb Attack In Ballymena
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of a petrol bomb incident in the Queen Street area of Ballymena. Shortly before 10.15pm on Monday, March 4, it was reported that two petrol bombs were thrown through the living room window of a house in the area. Neither of the petrol bombs ignited.

Appeal Following Petrol Bomb Attack In Banbridge
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a petrol bomb attack in Banbridge, in the early hours of Tuesday 19th March. It was reported that at around 2.10am on Tuesday morning, two petrol bombs were thrown at the back wall of a house in the Castlewellan Road area, causing scorch damage to the wall and a window frame.

Police come under petrol bomb attack
Police in Londonderry have escaped injury following a petrol bomb attack late last night. Officers came under attack in Butcher Street when a number of youths threw a pipe bomb at premises. No damage was caused however another device was later thrown at a police vehicle in Rossville Street. No one was injured.

Petrol bombers have attacked police investigating reports of attacks in Londonderry's mainly protestant Fountain Estate. Officers investigating reports of youths throwing petrol bombs in the area on Saturday themselves came under attack at around 9.00pm. A number of petrol bombs were thrown at police vehicles, but there were no reports of injuries.
