Derry People 'Living In Fear'
Residents in parts of Derry have called for extra personal security following a spate of attempted armed robberies in the city.
Locals say they are concerned about their safety and want home security cameras installed.
Sinn Fein Councillor Billy Page said some Ballymagroarty resident have been left with "nightmares" after a masked man attempted to rob two homes in the area.
"A masked man has come to two homes, armed with a gun. It has left them with nightmares," he said.
According to police, an investigation has been launched after two reports of a "man acting suspiciously around a house in Groaty Close".
Under a joint scheme between the PSNI and Peace and Reconciliation Group, any victim of crime in Northern Ireland is entitled to CCTV, as are those aged over 60.
Councillor Page has called for this scheme to be implemented in the area.
Speaking to the BBC, he stressed: "These attacks have been very frightening. We need to get these into the homes of the people that are eligible."
In the past fortnight that has been four separate reports of robberies in the area.
On Tuesday a woman was assaulted and has her handbag stolen during a robbery in Friel Close.
