Fruit of the Loom score World Cup victory

Fruit of the Loom's manufacturing operations in Donegal and Londonderry have been responsible for producing in excess of 10 million T-shirts, which will be worn by football fans throughout Europe in celebration of this year's World Cup.

Most of the orders received by Fruit of the Loom have been from its customers in the 'imprint' market - which is a key sector for the textile manufacturer.

Joe Mullan, Fruit of the Loom's Senior Vice President, Manufacturing Europe, said: "Major events and celebrations usually result in demand from our customers throughout Europe with official sponsors, companies and organisations keen to utilise the excellent marketing opportunities presented by a world-class event."

However, Mr Mullan said that the response to this year's World Cup had been excellent and had exceeded all his expectations.
