Police Investigate Lisburn City Blaze
A fire at a block of flats in Lisburn is believed to have been started by arsonists, according to police. One man was taken to hospital, and two were treated at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation. A Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson said significant smoke damage was caused to the buildings at Chapel Hill Mews. The incident occurred at around 8pm on Monday.
Fire Destroys Historic Cricket Pavillion
An historic cricket pavilion at one of Northern Ireland's oldest schools has been destroyed in a blaze. The fire at Portora Royal School in Enniskillen was discovered around 5.30am on Tuesday. A PSNI spokesperson said the "cause of the fire has not yet been established".
The school was established in 1618. Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett and Divine Comedy frontman Neil Hannon are among the school’s famous past pupils.
Jobs At Risk With Plant Plans
A medical packing company has warned hundreds of jobs could be under threat at its factory in Campsie, near Derry, after investment in the plant was suspended. Perfecseal said 300 jobs could be at risk with plans for a waste recycling plant near its factory that would seriously harm its business. Its parent company, Bemis, has suspended all investment and recruitment at the plant and the firm has lodged for an official objection to the application. Glassdon, a waste recycling company based in Toomebridge, have applied to build a plant in Campsie.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.
