Major safety conference milestone for NI
This weekend sees a major safety event and a milestone for health and safety being hosted in Northern Ireland.
The event which has been organised by HSENI, Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG), Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, NIC and Armagh City and District Council will take place from May 17-18 and will be hosted in the Armagh City Hotel.
The conference “Health and Safety Together - We’ll Make it Better” has an impressive line up of speakers and will provide views on the health and safety developments from a European, Northern Ireland and Trade Union perspective.
The conference will be focusing on two topical health and safety issues: “Employee Behavioural Programmes” and “Directors Responsibilities” in light of the proposed offence of “Corporate Killing.”
After the Conference the NISG will be holding a 50th Anniversary dinner with guest speakers and entertainment provided by “Bananas”.
On the Saturday afternoon the hotel and NISG will be hosting the all Ireland Safety quiz finals where two organisations from Northern Ireland will be competing against other regional finalists for the Title.
This is another special occasion for NISG as it is the first time that this event will be held in Northern Ireland.
