Police raids net £1.8m worth of drugs

Cannabis resin with an estimated street value of nearly £1.8 million pounds has been seized by police north and south of the border in two separate incidents.

In the first incident two men were arrested after Gardaí raided a warehouse at Navan in County Meath on Thursday April 25, seizing cannabis resin worth 2.5 million euro (£1.5 million).

Two men from Belfast were among four people detained when Gardaí searched a warehouse, where they recovered two hundred kilos of the drug.

Meanwhile, a man and a woman have been arrested after a holdall containing cannabis resin with an estimated street value of £200,000 was recovered.

Police made the arrests in Glengall Street on Thursday evening.

However the woman has since been released on police bail and the 26-year-old man is expected to appear at Laganside Magistrates courts on Saturday April 27 charged with possession and intent to supply a Class B drug.
