Government recruitment drive for Spanish themed bar

La Tasca, the new Spanish themed bar and restaurant is set to recruit up to 60 workers and enlist the services of the Department for Employment and Learning to fill the vacancies at its new complex in Belfast’s Odyssey Pavilion.

The company also aim to employ a number of Spanish workers to promote the unique and authentic atmosphere of the traditional tapas bar.

Rick Houston, Operations Manager for La Tasca, revealed that open days at the JobCentre at Gloucester House have been arranged for Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 of April. Details of the vacancies will also be available in JobCentres throughout Northern Ireland.

He added: “The local and Spanish combination of experience at La Tasca will ensure that our customers enjoy not only the finest Spanish cuisine and wines but will also experience true Spanish hospitality.”

Welcoming the new development at La Tasca, Pearse Lawlor, Manager of EURES in Northern Ireland said: “We are delighted to be of assistance to La Tasca and indeed any employer that brings job opportunities to Northern Ireland. Telefonica bids £17.7 billion for O2
Spanish telecoms company Telefonica have agreed a takeover deal with mobile phone group O2. Telefonica has agreed to purchase O2, a former subsidiary of BT, for £17.7 billion. The Spanish firm said that it would pay 200p per share – a premium of 22% on O2’s closing share price on Friday.
