Teenager Cleared In Ballymena Murder Trial
A youth has been cleared of a murder charge as a court case into the death of a Ballymena schoolboy continues this week.
The 17-year-old - who cannot be named as he is still a juvenile - was formally found "not guilty" after he pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage.
He is one of the five people on trial over the death of Michael McIlveen, 15, who died after being attacked in the Co Antrim town in May 2006.
The trial of the four other men accused of the murder is continuing. A fifth defendant faces charges of affray and criminal damage.
Earlier in the trial, 20-year-old Mervyn Wilson Moon, of Douglas Terrace in Ballymena, pleaded guilty to murder.

Police Investigating Man's Death Following Ballynahinch Collision
The PSNI have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of an elderly man following a collision in Ballynahinch. It it understood that police were called at approximately 4.10pm on Monday 08 April, to reports of the "sudden death"of an elderly man at a quarry in the Newcastle Road area of Seaforde.

A 41-year-old man has been extradited from Poland to Northern Ireland to stand trial for a number of offences, including the cultivation of cannabis. According to the PSNI, the man is accused of committing a number of offences in the Maghera, Coleraine and Kilrea areas in October 2019.

Belfast man pleads guilty to attempted murder charge
A Belfast man charged with attempted murder has pleaded guilty at court today. Gerard Donegan last week apologised for attacking Maurice McCracken in March 2003 with a hammer. The resulting injuries left the 56-year-old man severely brain damaged and unable to walk.
