Murder Probe Follows Mutilated Woman Shock

Police in north west London have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a woman who was found with head injuries and a severed hand in Greenford.

The 28-year-old woman was found by a passer-by in Braund Street around 7pm on Monday.

Police and paramedics were called and the woman was taken to Charing Cross Hospital, where she later died.

Police believe the woman may have been targeted by a former partner following an acrimonious break-up.

Six men were arrested in connection with the incident in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police believe that the woman could possibly have been attacked elsewhere before being dumped on Braund Street.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers said: "When the victim was found we know that a lot of people were in the street and that several people may have tried to administer first aid before the police or ambulance arrived.

"These people left the scene before speaking to police and I would ask that anyone who was there, or anyone else who has information about the incident, calls us in the strictest of confidence."
