Elderly Man Sexually Assaulted
Police are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a pensioner in his own home.
Between 7pm and 7.20pm on Friday 22 January, the offender went into the 87-year-old victim's flat on Trinity Street, Oldham.
The householder was sitting watching television when the offender knelt down at the side of his chair and sexually assaulted him.
The victim told the man that his carer was due to arrive and the offender fled.
He is described as being black or Asian, of medium build and aged around 17 or 18. He was dressed in black and was wearing black shoes with yellow soles.
Detective Constable Simon Halliwell, of Oldham CID, said: "This elderly man has been left feeling shaken and understandably extremely upset by what has happened to him.
"We are doing everything we can to find who was responsible for this despicable attack, but we need the public’s help, so I'm appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to contact us."
He added: "Incidents like this are rare, but I'd advise people to take precautions when they're at home, by locking their doors and not letting in anyone they do not know."

Police Appeal After Man Is Stabbed Outside Home
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed outside his house. The incident happened on Thursday, as the victim, 58, was about to get into his car, which was parked on Hannet Road. The man was approached by the offender who asked him for a cigarette.

Baby Snatch Attempt Foiled By Mother
A mother has successfully fought off a man and a woman who attempted to snatch her baby daughter from her pram in Leigh, Greater Manchester. Shortly after 8pm on Sunday 12 August 2007, the 30-year-old mother was pushing a pram with her four-month-old daughter along Wigan Road, close to the Hulme Road junction.

Ex-Scout Jailed For Historical Sex Offences.
An ex-Scout volunteer has been sentenced to four years I prison for sex offences committed on three boys between 1971 and 1980. Keith David Cutler, 57, of Knowles Close, West Drayton, was sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on Friday for 10 child sex offences and being in possession of 257 indecent images of children.
