Man Arrested Over Indecent Images
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images after a number of girls were approached in Salford.
The incidents occurred in the Pendlebury area between 3pm and 4pm on several days over the past six weeks.
On Thursday 21 January the suspect was driving a blue Vauxhall Astra when he approached two schoolgirls.
He stopped and asked the girls questions about an image on his mobile phone.
The girls walked away and the man drove off.
Police said they are investigating several other incidents in the area that could be linked.
Detective Inspector Caroline Walker said all schools in the area have been made aware and safety advice has been provided.
"Children are being advised not to walk alone, speak to strangers or approach any vehicle unless the person is known to them.
"If they are approached or have any concerns, they should tell a trusted adult."
He added: "This type of incident is very rare and I would ask the community not to be frightened, but to take steps to ensure the safety of their children."

Police Make Arrests After Gun Incident
Detectives from Trident are investigating after two men were arrested after allegedly aiming a firearm at police officers and two member of the public. It is said to have happened at around 3pm on Tuesday when plain clothes officers on routine patrol stopped a grey Vauxhall Astra outside West Hampstead tube station, West End Lane.

Merseyside Police have appealed for help in tracing a man wanted in connection with a number of assaults on the same woman in St Helens. Police said the first incident occurred at about 23:00 on Sunday, 06 September when a woman was approached by a man on Nutgrove Hall Drive, Thatto Heath.
