Probe Into Glasgow Teen's Death

Police in central Scotland have said they are still attempting to piece together the circumstance surrounding a young man's death in February.

Nineteen-year-old Dean Geary's body was found on the A811 near Drymen following a night out with friends in Glasgow city centre on Saturday February 6.

Friends says they last saw the Alexandria teenager at around 1am in the club Tatoo on Queen Street.

Police have trawled through hours of CCTV footage, carried out door-to-door inquires, and spoke with motorists who used the A811, all to no avail.

Appeals have also been made through taxi drivers' forums.

CCTV officers found footage of Dean walking from the George Square area to Renfield Street.

Police say they have managed to follow him until 3.22am when he is seen walking alone along Renfield Street at its junction with Sauchiehall Street towards the areas of Lauders and Walkabout pubs.

"Dean made a call to a friend around 3.30am saying he was in a taxi. The person who gave him a lift has not yet been traced and police appeal for this driver to come forward," a Central Scotland Police spokesman said.

"A man fitting Dean's description was seen walking along the A811 at various points on the road between Gartocharn and Drymen about 4.50am and 5.15am."

His body was found at 5.30am on Sunday February 7 by a passing motorist. He suffered serious head injuries and his death is being treated as suspicious.
