'Unexplained' Pub Death Probed

A woman who died after visiting a Plymouth pub on Easter Sunday has been named as Kirsty Thompson.

A post-mortem examination has been completed on the 22-year-old's remains and the cause of death has been recorded as inconclusive at this time.

However, police says they are satisfied that it appears Miss Thompson had no injuries consistent with any assault.

"Following extensive enquiries, including a large number of witness statements as well as examining CCTV footage, police are not treating Kirsty’s death as suspicious at this time," a police spokesman said.

Enquiries into how Miss Thompson died will in turn be handed over to HM Coroner.

Four men arrested at the time have been released on police bail until 30 June in connection with a fight inside the Walkabout.

"This fight is not thought to be directly connected with Kirsty's death," police added.
