Murdered Postmistress's Husband Held
The husband of a post mistress found dead last month has been arrested by police in North Yorkshire Police.
Robin Garbutt, 44, was taken into custody today and is was being interviewed by detectives about the murder of his wife Diana at Melsonby Post Office on Tuesday 23 March.
Detective Superintendent Lewis Raw, the senior investigating officer, said: "The tragic death of Diana Garbutt three weeks ago has had a significant impact on people living in Melsonby and Richmondshire as a whole. It has also captured the concern and sympathy of the wider community due to the high level of media coverage of this case.
"As we strive to bring Diana's killer to justice, it is vital that people resist from any form of speculation and rumour while the murder investigation continues. This is especially so following the arrest of a man in connection with the inquiry.
"I would again like to offer my sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support and understanding local people have given the police throughout this very complex investigation."

Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed were murdered, Mohamed Al Fayed has told the inquest into their deaths. The Harrods boss - Dodi's father - told the inquest at the Royal Courts of Justice, that there was a plot to have the Princess killed, in order for Prince Charles to be able to marry Camillla Parker-Bowles.

Mohammed Al Fayed has been asked to provide any evidence that Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed were murdered to an inquest into their deaths. Speaking at a pre-inquest hearing on Monday, Lady Butler-Sloss said that she had not been given "a shred of evidence" about the allegations.
