Lambley Crash Fatality Named

Detectives investigating the fatal crash in Spring Lane, Lambley, have today named the woman who died.

Leanne Ruddy, 18, of Kingsway, Heanor, was a passenger in a Seat Ibiza that left the road and collided with a telegraph pole at around 3.50pm on Sunday 11 April.

She was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where she later died.

The driver of the car was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Two other male passengers had minor injuries.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any information relating to it, is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police’s Crash Investigation Unit on 0300 300 9999 ext 2225."

Legal Action Taken Over Cumbrian Rail Crash
It has been revealed that Network rail is to be prosecuted over the Cumbrian rail crash back in 2007, which claimed one life. The rail regulation body, The Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) has said that they have started legal proceedings against Network Rail for a breach of health and safety law.
