Bradford Fire Victims Remembered
Hundreds of people will today gather at Bradford City's Valley Parade stadium for a memorial service marking the 25th anniversary of a fire which killed 56 people.
The Archbishop of York, Dr. John Sentamu, The Lord Mayor of Bradford and civic dignitaries from Lincoln and Hamm in Germany will attend a memorial service in Bradford's Centenary Square to mark the anniversary of the Bradford City fire disaster.
Today's service will mark 25 years since the fatal fire when 56 people died and over 200 people were injured.
Footballers from Bradford City and Lincoln City, senior fire and police officers and councillors will be in attendance.
The service will begin at 11am at the memorial in Centenary Square and will include a one minute silence. After the service there will be a lunch for invited guests and relatives.
The memorial was a present from the Lord Mayor of Hamm, Sabine Zech, who was at the match while on a civic visit hosted by the then Lord Mayor of Bradford, the late Bill Nunn.
A refurbished stone tablet memorial will be unveiled on Hamme Strasse at 2.45pm acknowledging the support of Bradford's twin town in Germany over the last quarter of a century.
At 3pm there will be a short service at the Memorial Board at Bradford City AFC ground which will be followed by a tour of the ground.
Bradford Cathedral will be marking the anniversary with a special service of remembrance for the families of the victims at 7.30pm.
Work on the City Park will be stopped all day.
Lord Mayor of Bradford Coun John Godward said: "The Bradford City fire disaster touched the lives of virtually everyone in the district and it is fitting that we remember those who died in 1985 and mark the 25th anniversary with dignity and respect.
"It is also right that we remember the many people who were injured on this day and still suffer from their injuries and the dreadful things that they witnessed. There were so many heroes who worked at the ground and local hospitals on that Saturday and for many weeks and months afterwards that we must also remember them."

Body Parts 'Match' Missing Bradford Woman
Police in West Yorkshire have confirmed that human remains found in the River Aire are those of missing Bradford woman, Suzanne Blamires. The body parts were recovered from the river in Shipley on Tuesday, after being discovered by a member of the public who then reported the find to police.

Four arrested following Beeb's BNP documentary
Four men have been arrested today following the broadcast of a BBC documentary on the British National Party. A 23-year-old Bradford man was arrested in connection with racially aggravated public order offences, and a 35-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, both from Keighley, were arrested in connection with conspiracy to commit damage.

Major fire causes disruption in Manchester city centre
A major fire has destroyed a five-storey office building in Manchester, spreading to a second building. The fire broke out on Dale Street around 5:55am on Monday morning. It is understood that the initial fire has been brought under control, but the building is now in danger of collapsing.
