Nighclub Murder Police Seek Information

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a murder in Forest Gate, London at the weekend.

Officers were called at approximately 6.20am on Saturday 29 May after reports of shooting in Katherine Road.

Two men, aged 36 and 27 years, were found suffering gunshot injuries. A third man aged 26 years later presented himself at an east London hospital, also suffering gunshot injuries.

It is believed all three had attended the Sugar Lounge nightclub in Katherine Road prior to the shooting, which took place in the street.

Patrick Ford, 36, of Tottenham was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem gave cause of death as gunshot wound to the chest.

Two others remain in hospital - the 27-year-old is in a critical condition, and the 26-year-old is in a serious but stable condition.

Detective Inspector Horsley said: "I am appealing for anyone who was in the Katherine Road area at the time of the shooting to come forward and speak to police. I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the Sugar Lounge nightclub in the early hours of Saturday.

"The information gathered so far suggests the three men were at this club prior to the incident and it is vital we piece together the events leading up to the shooting."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8733 4704; if you wish to remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, on Sunday 30 May a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and remains in custody.
