Fatal Shooting In North London

A man has been killed in a shooting in north London this morning.

The victim, in his fifties, was blasted several times on the A41 Cricklewood at around 8.30am.

No arrests have been made.

The A41, one of London's busiest roads has been closed in both directions.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called to reports of a man shot on Hendon Way near the junction with Garth Road. The A41 (Hendon Way) has been closed in both directions as officers carry out enquiries. Motorists are advised to avoid using the A41 in the Cricklewood area following its closure."

London nightclubs closed by police
Eight London nightclubs have been closed by police, because of a threat to public safety. The nightclubs, understood to include Crystal and Chinawhite, are all based in the City of Westminster, which encompasses Soho, Mayfair and The Strand. Police have not confirmed the reason for the closures, but did say that it was not linked to terrorism.

A woman was killed this morning in an accident involving a London bus while a separate investigation has been launched into the death of a GCSE student who has been knocked down by a police patrol car in Newcastle. The first fatal incident occurred last night as the Northumbria Police marked car was believed to be hunting for a stolen vehicle.

London Police Probe Deadly Shooting
Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after a murder in Westminster. Police were called at just after midnight on Saturday 22 May to reports of a man shot in Harrow Road, near the junction with Sutherland Avenue, W9. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and discovered a man suffering a gunshot wound.

London Police Step Up Patrols After Fatal Shooting
Police patrols are to be increased in London following a fatal shooting. The 18-year-old victim, who was sitting in a silver Ford Fiesta in Long Walk in Plumstead when he was killed, has now been named as Philip Poru.

Police hunt 'bike gang' behind London shooting
Police are continuing their search for a gang of youths responsible for the shooting of a 16-year-old youth in south London. The teenager was found outside Cassell House in Stockwell in the early hours of Thursday morning by police officers who were called to the scene following reports that shots had been fired.
