NI Tourist Drowns In Australian Park

A 27-year-old man from Northern Ireland has drowned while swimming in a northern Australian park.

The body of Tony Norney, originally from the Poleglass area in west Belfast, was found late on Saturday at the Malabanjbanjdju billabong in Kakadu National Park.

It is understood that Mr Norney was with a group of about 20 tourists who alerted police when he failed to resurface after going for a swim.

Crocodiles are common in the area where Mr Norney's body was found, but local police said that there was no indication that a crocodile had been involved in his death.
