Wife Killer Jailed
A male nurse who strangled his wife and then tried to make it look as though she died in car crash has been jailed for life, with a minimum term of 25 years. Brent Mott, 32, was found guilty of murdering his wife Kate, after a trial at Liverpool Crown Court. Mott strangled the 35-year-old at their home in Southport on Merseyside, in January and then dressed her and drove her body to a field in Scarisbrick, Lancashire, and caused superficial damage to their car. Mott, of Everard Road, had later admitted killing his wife on 21 January - while his two young children slept upstairs. But he claimed he had acted in self-defence, and that his wife had attacked him with a peeling knife during a row over their impending divorce.
Welsh Body Is Missing Teen
The body discovered in the River Taff in Cardiff is that of missing teenager Bryn Warren, South Wales Police have confirmed. Officers said the 19-year-old's family have been informed after he had been missing since last Thursday having disappeared on his way home from a nightclub.
£460m Heathrow Contract
The international infrastructure group, Balfour Beatty, has announced it has signed the £460 million construction contract to deliver the second phase of a satellite building to support Heathrow Airport's new Terminal 2 – T2B for BAA. It will combine its design, construction, ground engineering, specialist mechanical and electrical expertise and the professional services capabilities of Parsons Brinckerhoff to deliver the project having successfully delivered the first phase of T2B ahead of programme in November 2009. The second phase of T2B, for which Balfour Beatty has already provided design services, will deliver a facility with 10 new aircraft gates in the area to the east of Terminal 1. It will incorporate an underground link from the satellite to the main building of the new Terminal 2 development and a large baggage facility in the basement which will be subject to fit-out in the future. Construction work is due to begin in October.

Baby joy for Chancellor Gordon Brown
The wife of Chancellor Gordon Brown is pregnant, a Treasury spokesperson has announced. Mr Brown's wife Sarah is expecting the baby in July and the spokesperson said that the couple were "absolutely delighted" with the news. Mr and Mrs Brown have a two-year-old son John, who is named after the Chancellor's father.

An investigation is underway into the deaths of a husband and wife from Long Melford on Thursday. According to reports, the body of a man, said to be a butcher from Suffolk town, was found at the foot of a multi-storey car park in Bury St Edmonds, shortly after midday.

Nixiann Downes-Clack's body was discovered in Grenada on Friday after she was reported missing by relatives. A post-mortem examination revealed she died of a blunt force trauma and asphyxiation by strangulation.
