Tourists Stranded In Travel Firm Collapse
More than 1,000 passengers have been stranded abroad after a travel company collapsed.
Birmingham-based Sun4U, which specialises in holidays on the Spanish coast and Majorca, has announced on its website that it has ceased trading. It is understood that the firm was badly affected by the disruption caused by volcanic ash earlier this year.
Around 1,200 holidaymakers are understood to be stranded abroad, most of them in Spain.
Sun4U is advising customers to contact travel association ABTA's claim handlers on: 01243 621 500.
It is unclear how many holidaymakers will be repatriated. ABTA said that those with Atol (Air Travel Operators' Licensing) packages should be able to continue with their holiday as planned.

Free Travel Passes Announced For London Midland Passengers
Rail passengers who suffered cancelled services and delays last year will receive free travel passes and cheap tickets thanks to tough action taken by the government, Transport Minister Norman Baker announced today. London Midland season ticket holders will be given 5 days worth of free travel passes under a £7 million package of benefits.

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Cab Enforcement Unit, part of the Transport for London (TfL) funded Safer Transport Command (STC), have made more than 100 arrests in a bid to tackle illegal cab drivers in London. As part of the Operation Safer Travel at Night (STaN), officers increased night-time patrols over three weekends.
