Mother Sought After Baby's Body Found In Garden

Police are in Greater Manchester are trying to trace the mother of a newborn baby girl whose body was found in a garden in Bury.

The baby's was found wrapped in a cloth in the garden of a house in Tinline Street around 11:15am on Monday by the owner of the property.

The newborn was confirmed dead at the scene.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out and Greater Manchester Police are trying to trace the child's mother.

Detective Superintendent Sam Haworth said: "There are obvious health concerns with the mother and we want to make sure she is safe.

"We also need to know why the baby was left there. There are a number of assumptions we could make, but we need to know the truth.

"We are checking CCTV in the area to try and find out who left the baby, but I would ask people to think carefully about your friends and family.

"If you know of any women or girls who were pregnant and due to give birth in the last week and had been acting strangely, or if the news of the baby being found dead is seriously affecting someone you know then please call us."

Missing Baby Found 'Safe And Well'
A nine-month-old baby girl who was reported missing from her home in Glouchestershire on Monday has been found safe and well. Maylayah Delaney had been reported missing by her mother shortly before lunch-time on Monday. Police have confirmed that a man from the West Midlands is helping them with their inquiries.

Infant Body Parts Uncovered
There has been a grusome discovery of parts of a baby's body. The remains were found in a sewage treatment works near Hull on Wednesday afternoon. Humberside Police say the grim discovery was made at Saltend where officers are urging the mother of the baby to come forward.

The mother of a newborn girl has been found after the child's body was discovered at a train station on Wednesday. Police say a teenage girl has come forward and is now receiving treatment. A white baby girl was found while emptying bins at Fleet station in Hampshire.

Mother Of Baby Abandoned In Arcade Charged With Attempted Murder
The mother of a child found abandoned in the toilets of an amusement arcade in Southport, has been arrested. The newborn baby was found by staff at Silcock's Amusements in Merseyside, last Thursday. The child is being cared for by staff at Ormskirk Hospital, Lancashire later, who have named her April.

Abandoned Baby Found In Amusement Arcade Toilets
Workers at a amusement arcade in Southport have found an abandoned newborn baby girl. Staff called police after the baby was found inside the disable toilets of Silcock's Amusement Arcade on Neville Street, at about 19:00 on Thursday. Staff have named the baby girl April and she is now in the care of Ormskirk Hospital.
