Hastings Killer Gets 21 years

A Broadmoor patient who killed two women and attacked two others in 1998, has been jailed for a minimum of 21 years.

Graham Fisher, 37, from Bromley, south-east London, confessed to killing Clare Letchford, 40, and Beryl O'Connor, 75, in Hastings, on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

Fisher also admitted trying to murder and rape a Czech student on a train and admitted to raping another woman twice in her home. He was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court.

In 2008, Fisher confessed to his crimes while at the high-security hospital in Berkshire.

The bodies of the victims were found strangled and burned in their flats less than 100 yards apart in January 1998. Both women were former neighbours of Fisher.

The same month, Fisher attacked the 19-year-old student in a toilet cubicle on board a Hastings to London service. Another woman in her early 40s was raped by Fisher at her home in Bromley in 1991.
