Paul Gascoigne Arrested

Following a raid on a house in North Tyneside, former England football player Paul Gascoigne has been arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs.

Mr Gascoigne, 43, is currently being questioned by officers after spending the night in custody.

The former Newcastle and Tottenham player has already been warned he could face jail, when sentenced next month, following two drink-driving charges this year.

A Northumbria Police spokesman told Sky News Online: "Shortly after 5.30pm yesterday, police attended a property in North Tyneside.

"A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug.

"A second man, aged 43, was later arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.
