Missing Guest House Owner Sought

Police are continuing their search for a wealthy Berkshire guest house owner who they believe has been murdered.

Joanne Brown, 46, who runs the Tun Cottage B&B in Ascot, was reported missing on Monday morning.

Police investigating her disappearance have been granted an extra 12 hours to continue questioning the missing woman's husband, Robert Brown, on suspicion of murder.

He was arrested at his home in Winkfield, after police searched Mrs Brown's property, following a call from a family member who become concerned when they could not get in contact with her.

The mock-Tudor guest house, which borders Windsor Great Park, is being searched, along with Mr Brown's property.

It is understood that Mrs Brown lived at Tun Cottage for 12 years, before turning it into an upmarket guest house three years ago.

A statement issued by police said: "Thames Valley Police has arrested man in his 40s from the Windsor area on suspicion of murder.

"The arrest follows a call received by police shortly before 8am yesterday, following concerns for the welfare of a woman from the Ascot area.

"At this time, officers are yet to locate the woman, who is aged in her 40s."
