Investigation Launched Into Abuse At London Guesthouse

An investigation is underway into historical allegations of child abuse at a southwest London guesthouse.

Claims that a paedophile ring, with links to the then government, operated from the Elm Guest House in the 1980s will be examined by Operation Fernbridge.

The investigation comes after officers from Operation Fairbank, a scoping exercise, removed boxes of documents from the home of Mary Moss.

Ms Moss worked as an advocate for abused children at the now defunct National Association for Young People in Care.

It is understood that the documents contain evidence that senior figures from a number of political parties abused children at Elm Guest House and elsewhere.

There is no suggestion that Ms Moss is herself under investigation.

Elm Guest House is now a private residence and the current occupants are not connected to the allegations.
