Home Office Seize £100m Of Libyan Money

The Home Office have reported that £100 million pounds worth of Libyan currency has been impounded from a ship at Harwich.

The ship, that turned back from Tripoli, was accompanied by HMS Vigilant and a UK Border Agency cutter.

A Home Office spokesman commented: "The cargo is understood to contain a significant quantity of Libyan currency, which is subject to a UN sanction."

The money on board has now been moved to a secure location.
