Further Arrest Following Edmonton Murder
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested today in connection with the murder of Negus McClean in Edmonton. He is currently in custody at an east London police station. Police were called at 7.25pm on Sunday, 10 April to reports of a stabbing in Westminster Road, north London. Negus McClean, 15, of Edmonton suffered stab wounds to the chest and thigh was taken to Royal London Hospital but died later that night. It is believed that around 13 young black men, believed on bicycles, chased Negus prior to the murder. Seven other males have been arrested and bailed in connection with the inquiry. Anyone who can assist should call the incident room.
Appeal Following Fatal Collision In Rainham
Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Rainham. The alarm was raised at approximately 12:00hrs on Monday 18 April following reports of a green Ford Mondeo in collision with a black Ford C-Max on the A1306 (New Road) close to the junction with Launders Lane. Officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended and the 36-year old female driver of the C-Max was pronounced dead at the scene. Police await formal identification. A post mortem examination will be held in due course. Her three passengers were taken to an east London hospital where they remain in a stable condition. The occupants of the Mondeo both believed to be in their early 20s were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. It is believed that the Mondeo was travelling with a Black older style BMW vehicle. Anyone who witnessed either of these vehicles travelling together prior to the collision or can give any information regarding the BMW is asked to contact the Road Death Investigation Unit.
Former Nigerian Governor Remanded In Custody
Former Nigerian Delta State Governor James Ibori, 52, has appeared in custody at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court. He was charged with 25 offences relating to money laundering and fraud. He was remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on 28 April.

Body Recovered From Hampstead Ponds
Police divers have recovered a body from a pond in a north London park. Police were called to Hampstead Ponds on Hampstead Heath at 17:30 on Wednesday, following reports that a teenager had gotten into difficulty in the water. The Marine Policing Unit used three boats to search the pond, recovering a body just before 23:00.

A man of pension age was jailed for 12 years at Inner London Crown Court this week for a string of historic sexual offences. Philip Vivian Thompson, 71, of no fixed abode was convicted of eight counts of serious sexual assault and taking indecent images of children between 1977 and 1983.
