British Soldier Dies In Hospital

A UK soldier has died following an explosion in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

The soldier, from 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps, was injured while clearing roadside bombs in the Nahr-e Saraj district.

He was evacuated from Camp Bastion to the Queen Elizabeth NHS Hospital in Birmingham, but died yesterday.

His family have been told.

Lieutenant Colonel Tim Purbrick said: "The soldier was neutralising a complex set of IEDs which had been sown in an alleyway between two compounds when one of the devices detonated."

British Soldier Killed In Afghanistan
A British soldier has been killed while on routine patrol duties in southern Afghanistan yesterday. The soldier from the Royal Logistics Corps was killed in a contact explosion near Musa Quleh in Helmand the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed. The cause of the explosion is being investigated.

Afghanistan Blast Soldier Dies In UK
Yet another soldier has died as a result of the conflict in Afghanistan. He died in a UK hospital after being injured in an explosion, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has said. He served with the 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment (Cheshire) and was on patrol in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand when he was wounded on 13 July.

British Serviceman Killed In Afghan Blast
A British soldier has been killed in an explosion in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed. The serviceman, from the Light Dragoons, died in a blast near Gereshk in Helmand Province, southern Afghanistan, on Tuesday night. The MoD said next of kin have been informed.

British Soldier Dies In 'Enemy Fire' In Afghanistan
Another British soldier had been killed in southern Afghanistan, it has been confirmed by the Ministry of Defence. The soldier, from the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, attached to the 2nd Battalion the Parachute Regiment, died on Thursday, after coming under fire while on routine patrol.
