Female Bomb Disposal Expert Remembered
The commanding officer of a female bomb disposal expert who died in Afghanistan has described her as a "passionate, robust and forthright individual" who lived life to the full.
Capt Lisa Jade Head, 29, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was injured in an explosion while clearing roadside bombs.
On Monday Capt Head, from 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps, died at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth NHS Hospital after the explosion in Helmand province.
She had neutralised one improvised explosive device (IED) and was fatally injured while working on a second.
Capt Head is the second British female of the armed forces to die in Afghanistan in almost a decade.
She described her job as "the best in the world".

Army Bomb Disposal Team Called To South Wales HMRC Office
South Wales Police have confirmed that a controlled explosion has been carried out at a HMRC Revenue and Customs office in Cardiff. It is understood that around 2,500 employees were evacuated on Thursday morning at HM Revenue and Customs at Ty Glas in Llanishen. It is not clear what sparked the incident.

A British solider killed in southern Afghanistan on Monday has been named by the Ministry of Defence. Captain Daniel Read, from 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps, died in the blast in the Musa Qaleh area, northern Helmand. Kent-born Capt Read was an improvised explosive device (IED) disposal operator.
