Pete Doherty Faces Civil Action Over Death

The family of actor Mark Blanco, who died under suspicious circumstances during a late night party in 2006, have indicated they may press charges against troubled star, Pete Doherty.

An inquest into the death of the actor found conflicting evidence recorded an open verdict at an inquest into the actor's death.

It had hear that Doherty and Blanco had had a disagreement during a party at a convicted drug dealer's flat, before Doherty ordered a minder, Jeannevol, to "have a word" with the actor.

The actor fell from a balcony soon after the incident, and CCTV footage allegedly shows Doherty stepping over the body and fleeing the scene.

The actor's family have said they want to see justice done, and are considering a private prosecution against Doherty, Jeannevol and Roundhill, claiming "It would be perverse if they escaped prosecution."

The police are yet to bring any charges in connection with the death, while the family have said they would pursue a civil action against the singer if police charges were not forthcoming.
