Over 750,000 Olympic Tickets Sold

Over 750,000 Olympic tickets were sold to almost 150,000 successful applicants in the first second chance sales window, which closed at 6pm on Sunday 3 July.

It was only open to applicants who did not receive any tickets in the first round of sales, which took place between 15 March and 26 April.

In total, over 3.5 million Olympic tickets have now been sold, with around 850,000 successful applications made for tickets.

Approximately 1.5 million Football tickets remain, with matches taking place at venues around the UK. Elsewhere, around 40,000 tickets are available for Volleyball sessions at Earls Court, while approximately 8,000 Wrestling (Freestyle) tickets are available for sessions at ExCeL. All other sports have no availability.

LOCOG Commercial Director Chris Townsend commented: "We now have at least 150,000 more successful applicants – and they and their friends and families are now going to the Games. Our goal is to get as many members of the British public to the Games as possible, and we have sold over 750,000 tickets to people who were unsuccessful in the first round."
