Appeal For Man Who Attacked Police Dog
Police in London have issued an appeal for information on a man convicted of attacking a police dog. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the man who was found guilty at Hendon Magistrates' Court of causing unnecessary suffering to a police dog. Lukasz Sklepkowski, age 29, of no fixed abode, failed to attend Hendon Magistrates' Court to answer the charge on 5 December and was found guilty in his absence. The court heard how a police dog Zinzan had to be rushed to the vet after Sklepkowski trapped the dog's neck in a door and repeatedly slammed the door on the animal, while the dog was "screamed in pain", according to police. During the incident, several police officers, including dog handler PC Revill and his dog Zinzan, were in the area of Symphony Close on an unrelated matter and were alerted by a member of the public that a man was hiding in a nearby bush. When police approached the bush Sklepkowski ran and made for the entrance to an address at Viola Court, Symphony Close, Edgware. This address at Viola Court was being used by drug users and has since been closed by police and the local council with the tenant removed. Zinzan has fully recovered from the incident.
