Teen Arrested After One Killed And One Injured By Car

A teenager has been arrested after a man was killed and another injured during a car collision in Cumbria.

The men were struck on the A5087 at Conishead Bardsea at 3.50pm on Sunday.

George Tyson, 61, from Ulverston, died at the scene. The other man was taken to Furness General Hospital, where he was released after treatment.

The 17-year-old male driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Man charged following Cornwall body find
A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a man's body in a block of flats in Newquay in Cornwall. Police were called to a flat in Tower Road in the town around 9:40pm on Tuesday night, following reports of a stabbing from an ambulance crew. Officers found the body of a 21-year-old man in the flat.

Burglars have stolen three laptop computers containing payroll details for Metropolitan Police staff, Scotland Yard has confirmed. The computers were stolen from the offices of LogicaCMG, which is responsible for the force's pay and pension services, in Southwark Street last Thursday evening.

Man Arrested In Connection With Birmingham Carjacking
A man has been arrested in connection with a carjacking in Brimingham. West Midlands Police confirmed a 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery following an incident at Bartley Green. CCTV footage shows a woman being dragged more than 30ft on to the middle of the road. The car is being examined by forensics.

Second Man Arrested After Man Is Seriously Injured In Wolverhampton
Police investigating a disturbance outside a Wolverhampton pub that saw a car veer into a crowd of people, leaving one man seriously hurt, have arrested a second man. Officers were called to reports of a disorder outside The Rookery Tavern in Wood Street at 7.30pm Sunday 4th May.

Eight Men Arrested Following Dawn Raids
Over 100 police officers have carried out a series of raids concerning child sexual exploitation offences in Oxford. Eight men were arrested following the raids at 6am this morning 2 June. Police are investigating approximately 60 offences in connection with the operation relating to female victims in Oxford between 1999 and 2007.
