Met Issues Warnings Over Icy Roads
The UK's weather office has issued a warning to drivers over icy roads following a cold weekend.
A spokesperson for the Met said ice is likely to be a hazard on roads and pavements across parts of southeast Wales and much of England, except the southwest.
"The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel," the spokesman added.
Among areas of concern are Grampian, Wales, north west and north east England, the Midlands, Loundon and South England – all of which have been issued 'yellow alert' warnings for road ice.
Meanwhile, Heathrow says it hopes to resume a normal service after cancelling 42% of the 1,300 scheduled flights on Sunday.
A small number of schools in several counties have been closed.
Schools in Leicestershire, Kent and Medway, Essex, North Yorkshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, Sussex, Humberside and Derbyshire have shut due to the weather.
