Man Who Stabbed Girl In Face Found Guilty Of Attempted Murder

A man who stabbed a teenage girl in the face has been found guilty of attempted murder.

Christopher Parsons, 20, from Haywards Heath in west Sussex, stabbed the then 16-year-old in the face, and at least eight times in the neck, head, arms, back and chest.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been left with permanent scars.

Parsons was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 15th June.

Detective Inspector Dave McCullough said: "Throughout this investigation, and during the terrifying event itself, this young victim conducted herself in a way one can’t help but admire.

"She displayed levels of compassion, dignity and self-control one rarely sees even in those we consider to be paragons in our society."

Seventh arrest over teenager's stabbing
A seventh person has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 14-year-old Paul Erhahon in east London last Friday. A 17-year-old youth was arrested on Thursday and is now in custody along with two 15-year-olds arrested in the same investigation on Wednesday.

Fifth victim identified in Suffolk murder investigation Police investigating a series of murders in Suffolk have identified the fifth victim as 29-year-old Annette Nicholls. Her body was one of two discovered near Levington on December 12. The other body was identified on December 14 as Paula Clennell, 24.

Three More Arrested Over Army Cadet Murder
Police investigating the murder of a teenage Army cadet have arrested three more people. Joseph Lappin, 16, from Old Swan, died in hospital on October 20, after he was stabbed in the heart outside a youth club in Everton. He and two friends had been chased by a crowd of up to 15 people and attacked on the steps of Shrewsbury House Youth Club.

Sixth teen charged with stab murder
A 13-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of east London teenager Paul Erhahon - the sixth person to be charged in connection with the case. The youth, who was arrested in east London on Wednesday, has also been charged with the attempted murder of Paul's 15-year-old friend who was also stabbed in the attack.

Appeal For Witnesses Over Leyton Murder
Officers from the Homicide & Serious Crime Command are appealing for witnesses and information following a murder in Leyton. Police were called at 3:20pm on Monday, 29 November, to reports of a man stabbed in Capworth Street, east London. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.
