Woman Arrested After Five Children Die In House Fire

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after five children died in a house fire on Victoria Road in Derby.

The ages of the children who died range from five up to 10-years-old.

A sixth child, aged 13, has been transferred to a hospital in Birmingham for specialist treatment.

Two adults suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Royal Derby Hospital.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is not yet known.

Heroic Tyne Firemen Honoured
Two Tyne and Wear firefighters are to be recognised for their bravery at a special ceremony today. Andrew Nelson and Allan Richardson will be presented with the Chief Fire Officer's Commendations for brave and meritorious conduct after saving a man's life. The men took part in a dramatic rescue in the early hours of 4 February.

Four Children Killed In House Fire
Four children have died in a house fire in Derbyshire. Emergency services were called out to the village of Hulland Ward last night, but were unable to save them. The children's mother, Rachel Henson, 45, is currently being treated at the Royal Derby Hospital for smoke inhalation.

Two More Arrested In Connection To Fatal Derby House Fire
Two people have been arrested in an ongoing investigation into a Derby house fire which claimed the lives of six children. Police confirmed a 34-year-old and a 29-year-old woman from Derby were arrested in connection to the fire. Adding: "These latest arrests are part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.

Police Say Derby House Fire Was Started Deliberately
Derbyshire police believe the house fire that killed 6 children was started deliberately. Five children aged between five and 10 died in the early hours of Friday after the blaze at a property on Victory Road in the Allenton area, while a sixth child died in hospital overnight on Sunday.
