Murderer Escapes From Pentonville Prison

Police are appealing for help in tracing a convicted murderer who has escaped from HMP Pentonville.

John Massey, 64, made off from the Islington prison at approx. 18.30hrs on Wednesday 27 June.

He is considered potentially dangerous and should not be approached by the public if he is seen.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a man at a Hackney pub in September 1975.

Anyone with information of Massey's whereabouts is asked to call Islington Police 0207 421 0296; if you wish to remain anonymous please call Crimestopppers on 0800 555 111.

With an immediate sighting of Massey, call 999.

Man Charged With Helping Convicted Murderer Escape Custody
A 29-year-old man is to appear in court for his role in helping a convicted murderer escape from a mental health centre. Dean Ablakwa will appear before Thames Magistrates' Court charged with conspiracy to assist an offender to escape.

Man In Hospital After Police Shooting
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being shot by police in West Yorkshire. The 44-year-old man is being treated in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for gunshot wounds, police have said. Firearms officers responded to a 999 call reporting an incident at a house in Brighouse, near Halifax, west Yorkshire, just after midnight.

DTI report says call centres to create 200,000 jobs
Call centres in the UK are set to increase further according to a new report which predicts that an extra 200,000 workers will be recruited in the industry over the next three years. The Department of Trade And Industry report showed that the industry was “healthy” and had grown by 250% since 1995.
