Legionnaires' Outbreak Officially Over

The Legionnaires' outbreak in Edinburgh has been officially declared over by public health agencies.

The disease has claimed the lives of three men since it first emerged at the end of May.

To date, 101 people have been treated as either confirmed or suspected cases.

NHS Lothian said it is continuing surveillance for symptoms because it expects further cases will emerge in people who have been ill for some time.

An investigation into the cause of the outbreak is continuing. It is thought to have been caused by a cooling tower in the city.

MPs Call To Allow Cyclists To Use Games Lanes

A group of MPs have called for transport chiefs in London to let cyclists use the Olympic Games Lanes.

The 30 miles (50km) of road lanes have been put aside for athletes, VIPs and the media and anyone else using them faces a fine.

Liberal Democrat MP Tom Brake said cyclists should be exempt.

Transport for London (TfL) said cyclists could not use them as they were mainly outside lanes, which they would not use anyway.

This is despite TfL, in the run-up to the Olympics, calling for more people to take up cycling as part of plans to ease congestion on the roads and public transport.

BBC Will Broadcast Next Four Olympic Games

The BBC has secured the television, radio and digital broadcasting rights for the next four Olympic Games.

In an agreement finalised with the International Olympics Committee (IOC), the BBC will cover the Winter Olympics in Sochi and Pyeongchang in 2014 and 2018 respectively.

The 2016 Summer Games in Rio and the Olympics in 2020 also fall under the new broadcasting contract.
