Dolly The Sheep Creator Dies aged 58
Keith Campbell, a prominent biologist who worked on cloning Dolly the sheep, has died aged 58, the University of Nottingham said.
Campbell, who had worked on animal improvement and cloning at the university since 1999, died on 5 October, a spokesman, Tim Utton, said on Thursday. He did not specify the cause of death, saying only that Campbell had worked at the university until his death.
Campbell began researching animal cloning at the Roslin Institute near Edinburgh in 1991. The experiments led to the birth in 1996 of Dolly the sheep, the first mammal to be cloned from an adult cell.
London Bee Numbers’Could Be Too High’
The London Beekeepers Association (LBKA) has said there may be too many bees in the capital,
The association has criticised an initiative by a business group offering hives to central London firms.
InMidtown, which represents firms in Holborn, Bloomsbury and St Giles, said its scheme had seen a 40% increase in honey produced in the last year.
But the LBKA dismissed the project as "bee bling" saying firms should focus their spending on planting forage.
Dog Walker Trampled To Death
A dog walker died on Thursday after being trampled by a heard of cows.
Cattle rushed at 68-year-old Sandra Wiltshire and her dog in a field, she suffered injuries and a cardiac arrest.
She was spotted by two other dog walkers who called for an ambulance, but she died at the scene at 9am as paramedics tried to save her.
The dog was last night being treated by vets for multiple injuries, including fractured hips.

Teenager rescued from sea dies
A 15-year-old boy rescued from the sea off Norfolk has died. A lifeboat crew rescued the boy who had got into difficulties while swimming with another boy off Wells-Next-the-Sea, Norfolk. He was located by the lifeboat and was airlifted to hospital. But he later died shortly after being admitted to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Twenty Dogs Die In East Yorkshire House Fire
Humberside Fire and Rescue have confirmed that twenty dogs have died in a fire in East Yorkshire. It is understood that a fire broke out at the home of a private dog breeder on Graingers Road, Hornsea, at about 19:00 on Saturday.

Owners To Face Longer Sentences Over Dog Attacks
Irresponsible dog owners who allow their dog to attack people or assistance dogs will face tougher prison sentences from today, Tuesday. Changes to the Dangerous Dogs Act will also mean dog owners can now face prosecution if their dog attacks a person in their home or on any private property, except if they attack a trespasser.

New proposals for England and Wales could see owners of dogs that attack and kill face a life sentence in prison. Currently, the maximum sentence is two years for those convicted of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control. Under proposals put forward by the government, a range of new sentences would be available, from seven years to life.
