Man Remanded In Custody Over Fire Death Of Six Children
A man has appeared in court charged with murdering six siblings in a fire that ripped through their home as they slept.
45-year-old Paul Barry Mosley appeared at Derby magistrates court on Tuesday charged with the murders of Jade Philpott, 10, and her brothers John, nine, Jack, eight, Jesse, six, Jayden, five, and 13-year-old Duwayne.
Mosley, of Derby, was remanded to appear at Nottingham crown court for a preliminary hearing on Thursday. He will appear alongside the children's parents, Mick and Mairead Philpott, who have also been charged with the murders.
The children died after the blaze engulfed their semi-detached house in Allenton, Derby, on 11 May.
Mick and Mairead Philpott, who are both in custody and did not attend their children's funerals in June, are expected to enter pleas to each of the six murder charges at Nottingham crown court on Thursday.
A 49-year-old man arrested on Monday has been released without charge, Derbyshire police said.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Bristol Assault Baby Dies
It has emerged today that a baby boy has died in hospital in Bristol - three weeks after his father was charged with injuring him. The victim, three-month-old Kodi Martin suffered serious head injuries in an incident in Plymouth on November 1. Police officers said that he died yesterday at Bristol Children's Hospital.

Matthew Byrne, 37, of Tollemache Street, Wallasey, appeared before Birkenhead Magistrates Court after his home was raided last week. He also faces charges of false imprisonment, sexual assault and two counts of assault.

Scotland Yard have charged six men with terror and fraud offences. The men were arrested on 30 November in Dover and between 01 and 04 December in London. The men are said to range in age from 24 to 43, and five of the six are believed to be from London.
