Review Launched Over Toddler's Heroin Overdose

A case review is to be conducted over the death of a toddler from a heroin overdose in Wolverhampton.

Daniel Jones was aged just 23 months when she died in a property in the Penn area of Wolverhampton in May.

Wolverhampton Safeguarding Children Board is to launch the review.

A man and a woman have been charged over the child’s death.

Emma Bradburn, 33, and Simon Jones, 29, of Windsor Avenue, Penn, Wolverhampton, face charges of manslaughter and causing or allowing the death of a child.

The pair have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them and were remanded in custody.

They are due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 7 March.

Man Accused Of Attacking Pregnant Woman With Pole

A Dundee man is accused of attacking a pregnant woman with a pole.

Michael Dunn will stand trial over charges he attacked Joanne Dunn, who was three months pregnant at the time, at a property on Dunholm Road.

He pleaded not guilty to six charges at Dundee Sheriff Court.

It is alleged the accused repeatedly attacked Ms Dunn, striking her body with the metal pole.

He allegedly destroyed two TV sets, four cups, a mobile phone and a Katana ninja sword with the pole, before then damaging a door frame.

It is thought he also damaged a car bonnet and window with a metal bar, assaulted a man with a metal bar and was in possession of an offensive weapon.

Grave Exhumed Over Missing Schoolgirl

A family grave is to be exhumed in the search for the body of a schoolgirl who disappeared in 1957.

Moira Anderson vanished aged 11 while shopping in Coatbridge.

Alexander Gartshore, a bus driver and convicted child rapist who died in 2006, has been linked to her disappearance.

Police are treating the case as murder. They are to exhume the grave following the granting of a request by Moira’s relatives.

Police Called As Lottery Winner's Party Overrun

Police have been called to the home of a lottery winner after a party in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales became overrun and fights broke out in the surrounding streets.

The party had been advertised on Facebook.

Courtney Colarusso, 18, and Kalem Tinnuche, 19, were among the 300 partygoers. They had heard about the party on Facebook.

The two have appeared in court over charges they verbally abused police.

They have admitted using threatening words and behaviour and have received conditional discharges.

They were ordered to pay towards court costs.

The incident occurred at the home of 2005 lottery winner Sandra Fosbrooke in Five Roads.

The party was to celebrate her daughter's 16th birthday.

The house, bought from the £12.8m jackpot, was overrun with guests after the girl posted details on Facebook.

The girl’s mother was not present at the house at the time.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder Over Wolverhampton Double Stabbing
A 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a double stabbing in Wolverhampton. Marcel Mowbray, of Eastfield Grove, is due to appear before Wolverhampton magistrates. A 57-year-old woman remains in hospital in a stable condition with wounds to her neck, while a 55-year-old man with injuries to his back has been released.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Man Charged With Murder Of Homeless Man
A man has been charged with the murder of a homeless man who died after an attack at a bus stop in the West-Midlands last month. The 35-year-old from Smethwick was charged and remanded in custody on Sunday, to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

Mobile Customers To Share £1m Refund
Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

Shrien Dewani Extradited To South Africa
British man Shrien Dewani, 34, suspected of arranging the murder of his 28-year-old wife on their honeymoon has arrived in South Africa to face trial after a three-year legal battle against extradition due to his mental health problems.
