Over 8,000 Items Missing From MoD Training Centre

More than 8,000 pieces of equipment, including 115 bayonets, have been missing since 2008 from an MoD training centre in Devon, the BBC has reported.

It is understood that a list of 8,312 missing items from the Lympstone Commando Centre include 13 dummy hand grenades and 2,860 pieces of cutlery.

The Ministry of Defence have said the missing items were no danger to the public, adding that the term "lost" included misplacements, damaged items or could be the result of poor accounting.

Healthcare Worker Arrested By Operation Elveden

Police investigating inappropriate payments to police and public officials have arrested a former healthcare worker in Merseyside.

The 59-year-old man was arrested at about 06:30a.m. at his home in the Knowsley area of Merseyside.

He is being held on suspicion of offences including misconduct in a public office contrary to common law.

Car Stolen With 7-Week-Old Baby Still Inside

A car stolen in Wigan still had the owners 7-week-old baby in the back seat.

The father was standing next to the vehicle, with the keys in the ignition, chatting to a friend when another man sneaked into the driver's seat.

As the thief drove the father tried to open the car door, shouting: "My baby is in the car!"

Around 15 minutes later, Merseyside police were informed of a baby being left in an abandoned car close to the Billinge Arms pub on Main Street in Billinge. The baby was found safe and well, and reunited with his parents shortly afterwards, Manchester police said on Thursday.

Missing Baby Found 'Safe And Well'
A nine-month-old baby girl who was reported missing from her home in Glouchestershire on Monday has been found safe and well. Maylayah Delaney had been reported missing by her mother shortly before lunch-time on Monday. Police have confirmed that a man from the West Midlands is helping them with their inquiries.

Pregnant Woman Attacked In Essex
A pregnant woman has been attacked with a baseball bat and a knife at her home in Basildon, Essex. The 22-year-old woman, who was in labour, was getting ready to leave her home with her partner to go to the hospital when a gang raided her home. She was hit with a baseball bat and slashed with a knife.

Woman And Children Hurt In Suspected Knife Attack
A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman's dead body and four injured children. According to police the body of a woman (37) was found in a house on Reinwood Road, Lindley, Huddersfield.
