Man Still Missing In English Channel
A man who was washed overboard in gale force winds on the English Channel is still missing, following a nine-hour search by lifeboats.
The Eastbourne all-weather lifeboat was launched at 00:39 this morning.
A lifeboat from Newhaven later joined the search with a coastguard helicopter.
The search was abandoned at 09:10 after nothing was found.
The tug boat Endurance was towing a 60ft motor cruiser from Dover to Brighton.
The missing crewman had been trying to reconnect the tow to his ship after it was lost, but fell overboard.
Funeral Held For Shed Fall Man
A funeral is to be held in Moffat of a farmer from Dumfries and Galloway who died after falling from a shed.
Willie Davidson is to be buried following a ceremony at St Andrew’s Church in the town.
The incident occurred at Poldean Farm near Moffat late last month.
Hibs Footballer Charged Over Racist Tweet
A Scottish footballer has been charged over an alleged racist comment on Twitter.
Hibernian striker Leigh Griffiths allegedly told a fellow tweeter, Zak Iqbal, to go "back to your own country".
He has been bailed to appear at court at a later date.
Cyclists Rescued By Lifeboat
Two cyclists have been rescued from a breakwater a mile-and-a-half off the coast at Holyhead after they were spotted by a lifeboat.
The men, aged in their early twenties, were cycling out on to an Anglesey breakwater in "atrocious" weather.
Holyhead inshore lifeboat was launched on Monday evening after the men, aged in their early 20s, were spotted a mile-and-a-half out to sea with waves crashing over them.
Coastguards rescued the two men to safety, where they were given first aid treatment.

Search Continues For 4-Year-Old Who Fell From Jetty
The search for a four-year-old boy who fell into water near a jetty in Burnham-on-Sea is continuing. Emergency services were called just after 18:00 on Sunday. An air and sea search involving coastguard rescue teams, lifeboats and an RAF helicopter was scaled back at dusk but continued overnight.

Search for ferry passengers stood down
A massive air and sea search in the English Channel for two ferry passengers reported missing has been stood down after the couple were found at home. Dover Coastguard were alerted after two passengers were reported missing from a coach party on the ferry. Although the crew searched the ship twice, no trace of the passengers was found.

Search Underway Off Brighton Coast For Missing Yachtsman
A major search operation has been launched off the coast of Brighton after a yacht drifted back into the marina with no-one on board. Two helicopters and three lifeboats began searching for the owner of the yacht at about 22:00 on Sunday.

Workers Stranded On North Sea Rig
Over 90 workers have been stranded on a gas rig in the North Sea since Monday after a helicopter broke down. The workers have been stranded for two days on the Ensco 80 rig, located 100 miles off the Norfolk coast. 94 people are said to be on the rig, amounting to four times over its capacity.

Teenager Drowns At Blackpool Beach
A 14-year-old boy has drowned off Blackpool beach. Liverpool Coastguard were called after two teenagers were spotted in trouble in the sea by Blackpool's Central Pier around 3:40pm yesterday.
