Cairngorms Dead Hillwalker Named

A man who died while hillwalking in the Cairngorms has been named.

Graham Connell, 31, from Castleford, West Yorkshire, was found in the Jacob's Ladder area on Monday.

The five companions he was walking with from Leeds University Hiking Club were rescued by helicopter.

Northern Constabulary said a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Scout Leader Found Dead On Hiking Trip
A "experienced" hiker has been found dead after going missing on a trip to Liechtenstein. The British scout leader was found dead after he apparently plunged 1,000ft down a ravine. Thomas Moore, 21, from Stevenage in Hertfordshire, left the group expedition to hike solo up the Mittagsspitz mountain.

Police have named the woman and her two daughters found dead in a house in east London. Juli Begum, 26, and her children Anika Khanum, five, and Thanha Khanum, six, were found dead at their home in Nelson Street in East Ham on Wednesday.

Police in Canada are investigating the attack on a Montreal college in which a gunman ran riot, killing a young woman. The dead woman has been named by Canadian newspapers as Anastasia DeSouza aged 18.

Police Appeal To Witnesses Of Cycling Incident
Police in Cheltenham have appealed to witnesses of an incident involving a cyclist on Tuesday. It is understood that a 52-year-old female cyclist was found with head injuries on Old Bath Road. She was treated in hospital and discharged the same day.

Three Kayakers Found Dead Named
Three kayakers found dead in the River Tyne in Northumberland after they went missing were two brothers and their cousin. Police were alerted after brothers Darren Thorpe, 41, Mark Thorpe, 39, and their cousin Gavin Bradley, 36, all from South Shields, were reported missing at 11.00pm last Sunday when they failed to return home.
