Two Arrested In Connection With Acid Attack

Police have arrested a two people in connection with an acid attack on a 21-year-old woman in East London last year.

Naomi Oni had acid thrown in her face as she got off a bus in Lodge Avenue, Dagenham, on 30 December at 00:40.

Police have said that on Friday a 21-year-old woman and 28-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of being involved in causing grievous bodily harm.

Both have been bailed to return to police, pending further inquiries.

Police said they would like to speak with a potential witness who got on the 368 bus at Barking railway station and got off at Lodge Avenue about five minutes after Miss Oni.

He is described as black, about 20 to 30 years old, 5ft 5in and of medium build. He was wearing a black jacket and a black hooded top with blue jeans.

Multiple Fatalities In Leicestershire Crash
Six people have died in a collision between a car and a lorry in Leicestershire, police have confirmed. The A607 near Melton Mowbray was closed in both directions following the crash. Police were called to the scene of the collision about a mile south of the town centre at 1.55am on Thursday.

Man shot dead by police in London
Police officers in London have shot dead a man during an operation in west London, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed. The 52-year-old man, who has not yet been formally identified, was fatally wounded during the incident in Hangar Green in Ealing on Tuesday night.

Police guilty of 'neglect' over man's death
Police officers have been found guilty of "the most serious neglect of duty" after a former paratrooper choked to death while in custody. Four officers from Humberside Police were also accused of "unwitting racism" in the death of Christopher Alder in 1998 by a report by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
