£150,000 Cap For BBC Management Pay-Offs
BBC management pay-offs are to be capped at £150,000, as new director general, Tony Hall, said the organisation "could not be tone-deaf" to ongoing criticism over the scale of redundancy packages paid to executives.
The BBC was accused of "rewarding failure" over the £450,000 paid to Lord Hall's predecessor, George Entwistle.
Announcing that staff and unions would be consulted on the plan, Lord Hall said: "I appreciate that making changes to existing contracts is never easy. But it is to the great credit of the senior leadership team at the BBC that there is broad recognition of the need for change.”

Stuart Hall Rearrested On Further Charges Of Sexual Abuse
Former BBC presenter Stuart Hall has been rearrested in prison on futher charges of sexual abuse. Hall, 83, is currently serving a 30 month sentence after admitting 14 counts of abuse of girls aged from nine to 17 between 1967 and 1985.

The Court of Appeal has doubled the 15-month sentence handed down to former BBC broadcaster Stuart Hall for a series of indecent assaults. Hall's original sentence of 15-months was ruled to be "unduly lenient". The 83-year-old had admitted 14 counts of indecent assault against girls aged 9 to 17, between 1967 and 1985.

BBC To Close Its Digital Media Initiative
The BBC is to close its Digital Media Initiative (DMI). Beginning in 2008, DMI set out to move the BBC's production and archive operations to a fully integrated, digital way of working. The decision to close DMI follows an operational review of the project which was launched in October 2012.
