Two Charged Over Mosque Attack

Two men have been charged after a mosque in North East Lincolnshire was attacked with a petrol bomb.

On Sunday, the Grimsby Islamic Cultural Centre was attacked while a meeting was being held inside.

No one was injured.

It was the second time the centre had been targeted in a week.

Last Thursday, eleven teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were arrested after the mosque and parked cars around the building were attacked. Humberside Police said five had since been released without charge, while the others were released on bail while inquiries continued.

In the latest incident, two men, aged 33 and 37, were charged with arson with intent to endanger life and are expected to appear at Grimbsy Magistrates' Court later today.



Woman Charged With Hospital Gun Threat

A 40-year-old man has been sectioned after alleged threats were made at gunpoint to two nurses at Salford Royal Hospital.

Police said an armed man made the threats to staff on Friday and a firearm was recovered. No one was injured in the incident.

Following a search of two properties, a woman also aged 40, appeared in court on charges of possession of firearms and ammunition. She is accused of possession of three revolvers, a pistol and ammunition.



Man's Body Found In Shelton

Police searching for a man who went missing last week have found a body.

The discovery was made near the River Severn at Shelton on Monday but the body has not been formally identified.

The discovery comes after 50-year-old Andrew Warren was reported missing on Friday. He had not been in contact with relatives for a week.

West Mercia Police said it had notified Mr Warren's family and was treating the death as "unexplained". It added that a report has been prepared for the coroner and once the man had been formally identified, an inquest into the death would be opened later this week.

Mr Warren was last seen on May 17 and police believe he had been living rough in Shrewsbury.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids

Suspected London bomber to be returned to UK
A British man wanted for questioning in connection with the failed London bomb attacks on July 21 is to be extradited to the UK within 35 days, an Italian court has ruled. Osman Hussein (27) will appeal the decision to the Italian Supreme court, according to his lawyers.

Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

Man Charged With Murder Of Homeless Man
A man has been charged with the murder of a homeless man who died after an attack at a bus stop in the West-Midlands last month. The 35-year-old from Smethwick was charged and remanded in custody on Sunday, to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
